Last updated: 5-Nov-25

  1. Introduction

Welcome to Stellr SA’s digital platform (“Platform”). These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern access to and use of the Platform when scanning a Stellr SA QR code in a participating Retailer’s store and obtain a barcode for any available Product on the Platform.

By scanning the QR code, accessing the Platform, or obtaining a barcode for presentation/scanning at a Retailer’s in- store till point/s, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

This electronic agreement has the same legal effect as a written contract under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”).

  2. About Stellr SA

  3. Relationship Between Stellr SA, Retailers and Customers

    1. Stellr SA operates a digital platform that allows the Retailer’s customers to browse, select, and obtain prepaid or digital product barcodes (“Products”) in order to facilitate the purchase of product-specific PIN Codes at participating Retailers.
    2. The retailer is an independent third-party entity that has duly authorised Stellr SA (Pty) Ltd (“Stellr SA”) to display Stellr SA’s QR Code Board within its physical retail premises, and to allow its in-store customers access to Stellr SA’s Platform (“Retailer”). The Retailer is authorised to offer and sell the Products via its own in-store point-of-sale or till system, in accordance with its designated Product catalogue as approved or enabled by Stellr SA. Each Retailer shall operate independently and maintain its own specific catalogue of Products made available through the Stellr SA platform.
    3. The Platform in no way infers that Stellr SA is the seller of Products or services provided by the Retailer. The Retailer is responsible for finalising your purchase and issuing receipts with the PIN code to the Customer for redemption via the corresponding Product Providers platforms.
    4. Stellr SA provides the digital interface Platform, manages Product availability and pricing, and facilitates the generation of valid EAN13 barcodes for presentation and payment at the Retailer’s in-store till point/s.
    5. Whilst Stellr SA and the Retailer may jointly provide this service to the Retailer’s customers, the Parties act independently of each other and are not agents of one another.
  4. How It Works

    1. When you scan a Stellr SA QR code board on display at a participating Retailer, you will be directed to the co- branded Stellr SA managed Platform.
    2. On the Platform, you may browse and select from a variety of digital voucher Products that are available for purchase via the Retailer at which the QR code was scanned.
    3. Once you select a Product, the Platform will generate an EAN13 barcode identifying the selected Product and its value or value range in the case of a variable load voucher
    4. The Platform will display your selection on your mobile phone or via WhatsApp (if selected) to present at the Retailer’s in-store till point.
    5. The barcode is then presented at the Retailer’s in-store till point for identification/scanning and payment. The Product will be activated and the PIN code printed on your till slip once payment is confirmed.
    6. The onus is on you to retain the till slip with the PIN code until the full value of the PIN code has been redeemed at the relevant product providers online branded platform.
    7. All PIN Codes are valid for a period of 36 months from date of issue.
    8. Once a PIN has been printed by the Retailer, it cannot be reprinted.
    9. Loss or damage of any till slip is your responsibility and neither Stellr SA nor the Retailer will be liable for any loss or damage of the PIN code or any unredeemed value.
  5. Pricing and Payment

    1. All prices displayed on the Platform are the face value and are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
    2. Payment for Products takes place at the Retailer’s in-store till point and is processed by the Retailer, not by Stellr SA directly.
    3. Neither Stellr SA nor the Retailer stores or processes your payment details.
    4. Stellr SA is not responsible for in-store till point errors, failed transactions, or mispricing by the Retailer, but will assist to the extent possible to resolve any Retailer-related issues.
    5. In accordance with section 43(5) of ECTA, where an error occurs in the pricing or description of a Product, Stellr SA reserves the right to correct such error and notify you before finalisation of the transaction.
  6. Refunds and Cancellations

    1. Once a Product barcode has been scanned, payment made at the Retailer, and Pin Code issued, the sale is final.
    2. The Products cannot be refunded or exchanged once a PIN code is activated or issued.
    3. In accordance with section 42(2)(f)(iii) of ECTA, the right to cancel within 7 days does not apply once a digital Product has been activated and the PIN issued.
    4. No refunds are issued unless expressly authorised by the Product provider.
